At the intersection of bold innovation and timeless tradition, Louis Vuitton unveils an extraordinary exhibition at Design Miami/Paris 2024. This event celebrates the 40th anniversary of Estúdio Campana, the Brazilian design duo renowned for their visionary creativity, alongside the Maison’s Objets Nomades collection. Housed within the Louis Vuitton LV Dream space, the exhibition showcases masterpieces that epitomize the spirit of luxury, travel, and artistic collaboration.
On the ground floor of the LV Dream space, Estúdio Campana’s iconic designs take center stage. From the cloud-inspired Bomboca seat to the enchanting Merengue designs with their swirling leather petals, the collection encapsulates the essence of Louis Vuitton’s art of travel. Notably, the Maracatu cabinet, draped in vibrant leather strips, pays homage to Brazilian folk traditions, a hallmark of the Campanas’ aesthetic. Visitors can immerse themselves in the duo’s journey through the film We The Others, tracing their legacy from São Paulo to the global stage.
Elevating the exhibition is Humberto Campana’s reinterpretation of the Cocoon chair, featuring six bespoke creations inspired by Brazilian folklore. Adorned with intricate embellishments—such as shimmering feathers and hand-sewn sequins—each piece is a testament to haute couture artisanship. Highlights include the Iara, representing the mythical mother of waters, and the Matinta, cloaked in hand-selected feathers evocative of nocturnal mysteries.
The new Kaléidoscope Cabinet, crafted from over 500 pieces of leather marquetry, celebrates Louis Vuitton’s storied craftsmanship. This limited-edition Objet Nomade embodies the Maison’s dedication to merging artistry with functionality, evoking the spirit of travel and heritage.
Beyond the designs, visitors are treated to a showcase of Louis Vuitton’s home style, including Signature sofas and Monogram-inspired tableware, blending elegance with playful innovation.
