Those who have marked the way for luxury items have one thing in common: they do not conform to rules. Daring to break limits, those who prefer Bespoke items are, definitively, trend setters and not followers. In this spirit, Rolls-Royce, as a super luxury marque, has seen itself in the necessity to innovate and create new experiences for this exigent market.

The new generation of subversive clients now pursue minimalism, purity, and function before form. The result of these requirements turned into what is the most technologically advanced and aesthetically pure model to date: the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost.

Available in a variety of colours, the preferred finish is a pure, deep black, which cannot be attained by any other brand in the automotive business, thanks to the long and artisanal process of painting the pieces. The iconic Rolls-Royce elements are also subverted via a specialized chrome electrolyte process that darkens the pieces. The 21-inch composite wheelset completes the look, designed exclusively for the Black Badge Ghost model, with 22 layers of carbon fibre laid on three axes, finished with a Floating Hubcap that ensures the Double R monogram stays upright.

The interior is crafted carefully, with a complex diamond weave of carbon and metallic fibres complementing the multiple wood layers pressed on the panels. The Post-Opulent vibe of the car goes into the interior, with subtle details on the air vent surrounds treated with physical vapour deposition, preventing discolouration. The iconic timepiece that accompanies every Rolls-Royce model carries this spirit forward with only the three, six, nine, and twelve-o’clock markers detailed, along with the hand tips. The fascia is a Bespoke innovation as well: displaying an ethereal Lemniscate, 850 stars surround the timepiece, matching the instrument dial and clock. The stars also pair with the Shooting Star Starlight Headliner.

The Bespoke experience extends to the engineering department. An all-aluminium spaceframe architecture, named the Architecture of Luxury, delivers body stiffness, and allows the Ghost to be equipped with four-wheel steering.

The capacity of the Rolls-Royce twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V12 engine was deemed sufficient. However, the flexibility of this celebrated power plant has been exploited to generate an extra 29PS, creating a total output of 600PS. The sense of a single infinite gear has also been dramatised with the addition of a further 50NM of torque, for a total of 900NM. The powertrain has also received Bespoke transmission and throttle treatments to further enhance the engine’s increased power reserves. The ZF eight-speed gear box and both front- and rear-steered axles work collaboratively to adjust the levels of feedback to the driver, depending on throttle and steering inputs

A newly innovative experience through and through, the Black Badge Ghost model is ready to be commissioned and marks a new height for Rolls-Royce. A true testament of the marque’s capability of adapting to the demands of their most discerning clients, the Black Badge Ghost is a vehicle sure to impress any driver as long as they are willing to break all limits.
