Passionate since childhood by automotive design, Alberto Mancini graduated from Istituto Europeo di Design in Turin, Italy, but little did he realize that the ocean played a bigger part in his upbringing than immediately apparent. Spending his summers traversing the Mediterranean in the family’s ketch, it wasn’t until much later, when he decided to ignore rules and present a yacht design project at university rather than a standard car that his life would change. Discovering a new passion, Alberto Mancini would never stop soaring the seas from that moment on.

A simple telephone call kickstarted his career when Mancini himself was unsure about his abilities. His work can be divided in four distinct periods, beginning in the year 2000 when he partnered with the Officina Italiana Design, where he undertook prestigious design projects like the Aquariva 33 and the Rivarama 44, and had the opportunity to learn about yachts, proportions and styles from master designer Mauro Micheli Riva.

He then joined Ken Freivokh’s design team, where he would continue his technical and administrative studies. He worked in the process behind a 86 metre S / Y for Perini Navi Yard called the Maltese Falcon. In 2004 he met Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard, whom he would collaborate with in creating a series of sports yachts for Cantineri di Sarnico, Nuvolari and Lenard Studio. In 2006, Mancini began his own path as head designer for the Team For Design Studio, where he made the Flying Bridge Yachts and received the Dominator 780S Best Design Award Cannes.

In 2009 Mancini opened his own design studio under the name Alberto Mancini Yacht Design, based in Trieste and Monaco. He diligently pursued his personal philosophy: pure, elegant design inspired in nature together with technical innovation. This gave him the opportunity to showcase his experiences and design abilities in his most impressive yachts.

Today he works with the best ship brands such as Azimut Yachts, Baglietto, Fairline Yachts, Magnum Marine, among others, and has been in charge of the interior and exterior design of Oceano and Grand Sport for Overmarine Mangusta, which has been awarded for the Best Exterior and Interior Design.

After 12 years in the industry, Alberto Mancini is a world referent in yacht design. His unique perception and exquisite design style pop with a single gaze and envelop the very best yachts in the world.
